A Father’s Strength

A Father’s Strength
By John Maurice

Hello to all my readers. Happy Father’s Day.

I pray that this day is a gift for you as it is to me. Because there are some men who just are. They don’t need to announce themselves. They don’t boast. They don’t beg to be seen. They just show up every day. Quietly. Powerfully. Lovingly. And that’s exactly who my father was… and still is.

What Made My Dad Rich.

My dad didn’t have wealth in his pockets, but he was rich where it mattered, in love, in discipline, in presence… sometimes When his relationship didn’t work out he didn’t just move on he raised his kids, and I’m so very grateful for my father. It’s because of him I know and saw first hand how a man works to provide for his children. My father was a glass maker living at the Jersey shore where I was burned and raised Long Branch NJ. Home of The Green Wave. My father was amazing He stepped up. He cooked. He worked. He created a home, He protected. He loved. And he raised me with all the love that he had and made sure that if we gave our word we kept it. “A Mans Word is His bond”.

How He Raised and Me He taught me to stand on my own. To pull up my bootstraps. To fix what’s broken. To show up for others. To not expect a hero, but to be one.

I remember the day I got my license. He had three cars: two of them were stick shifts and one automatic. I asked to drive the automatic. He said no.

Why? I had the never to ask, because back them kids didn’t talk back. but I found out the reason. It was Because he wanted to make sure that if I was ever in a situation, a crisis, a moment of danger, and the only vehicle around was a stick shift to drive, He wanted to make sure that his son would know how to get too safety.

That’s the kind of man he is. A Black Superman

Born in the South. One of seven kids. The middle child who became the guardian. The older brother who served like the youngest. The farmer’s son who became a self-made entrepreneur, handyman, protector, and provider. He could fix a house. Fix a car. Fix a heart. And still show up at the church, the cookout, or your front door with laughter in his voice and purpose in his walk.

The Reflection

It’s funny… Most of my life I was trying not to be him. Trying to carve my own path, my own voice, my own legacy. And yet now, when I speak, when I build, when I show love, when I protect, when I lead, when I laugh—I hear him. I see him.

am him. And I’ve never been more proud.

Thank You, Dad
Thank you for being strong, even when it hurt. For being present, even when it was hard. For loving me in your own way, and giving me space to grow and be myself. For teaching me that being a man isn’t about ego, it’s about responsibility, reliability, and realness. You showed me what manhood looks like.

And today, when I look in the mirror… I don’t just see myself.

I see you son. “Words Matter.”

To All the Fathers.
Happy Father’s Day to the fathers . Not just the men who have babies, but the Fathers who raise them. Who teach. Who guide. Who show us how to live with purpose, love, and intention.

I honor my father. And I honor every man out there doing the same.

Until Next Time

Love Always,
John Maurice
