Dream Big, Stay Real, Live Your Best Life

Today, I want to speak to young adults stepping out into the world for the first time and those over 50, bravely starting over after a divorce, career change, or other life-altering event. No matter where you are, one thing remains true: your best days are not behind you—they are ahead of you.

But let’s be honest: living your best life isn’t just a motivational slogan—it’s a commitment, a journey, and, above all, a balance. It’s about dreaming big while staying grounded, and believing in yourself without falling into the trap of self-delusion. So, let’s explore how to rise to the occasion and create a life that’s meaningful, impactful, and truly our best.

What Does It Mean to Dream Big Yet Stay Real?

You may have heard someone say, “You think you’re greater than you actually are.” It sounds like criticism, doesn’t it? But what if we flipped that perspective? What if the key to success is believing in your greatness, as long as you’re willing to back it up with action?

This isn’t about arrogance. It’s about self-awareness. Knowing your worth, without inflating it. Dreaming big, but planning smart.

Here’s how you can strike that perfect balance.

Know Yourself—Truly

Self-awareness is the foundation of transformation. Ask yourself:

What are my strengths? What are my weaknesses? What do I love doing? What drains me?

Be brutally honest. If managing money isn’t your strong suit, don’t launch into a massive business without learning the basics. Instead, start small—build your skills and confidence one step at a time. Reflect on your past. If you’ve tried and failed before, what lessons did those experiences teach you?

Set Realistic Goals with Big Dreams in Mind

Dreaming big doesn’t mean setting yourself up for failure. It means breaking those big dreams into actionable steps. For example:

Instead of saying, “I’ll be a millionaire in a year,” start with, “I’ll save $10,000 this year.”

Instead of “I want to reinvent myself,” start with “I’ll learn one new skill this month.”

Success is a series of small, consistent victories.

Embrace Failure as a Teacher

Failure isn’t the opposite of success—it’s part of the process. Every misstep is a lesson. Thomas Edison famously said, “I didn’t fail; I just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”

So, when life knocks you down—and it will—get back up. Reflect, regroup, and keep moving forward. Resilience is your superpower.

Surround Yourself with the Right People

The people you allow into your life can either elevate you or drag you down. Seek out mentors, peers, and friends who inspire you, challenge you, and believe in your potential. But beware of naysayers. Often, people who doubt your dreams are simply reflecting their own limitations.

Here’s a little humor: If someone says, “You think you’re greater than you are,” just smile and respond, “Well, I’m still figuring that out, but thanks for the encouragement!”

Stay Humble, Yet Confident

True confidence doesn’t need to boast. It’s quiet, steady, and rooted in self-awareness. Be open to feedback, but filter it wisely. Not every opinion deserves your energy. Remember, growth comes from constructive criticism, not baseless negativity.

Celebrate Every Step Forward

Every win—no matter how small—is progress. Got your first client? Celebrate. Finished that online course? Celebrate. These moments remind you that you’re capable of achieving greatness.

Why Your Best Is Yet to Come

Whether you’re 21 and starting out or 51 and starting over, there’s something you need to know: It’s never too late to rewrite your story. Your age, your past failures, your setbacks—they don’t define you. What matters is the choice you make today.

Raise your altitude. Tune into a higher frequency. Let go of the doubts and excuses. You are capable of more than you can imagine—but only if you take the first step.

Live Your Best Life

So, here’s the challenge Dream big, but stay real. Take risks, but make them calculated.

Embrace failure, but don’t let it define you. Believe in yourself, but stay humble. Stop putting limitations on yourself. Only you can stop you from you from making your dreams come true. You have greatness inside of you.

Stop looking to be like or do what everyone else is doing and let your light shine. You are a one of one in all the universe .The world is waiting to see who you are and what gift you bring to the world.

Rewrite your story, because the best chapters are still ahead.

When someone asks, “Who do you think you are?” you can proudly say, “I’m someone who’s unafraid to find out.”

As this year comes to a close, I want you to hold onto one simple truth: your best is yet to come. If you believe it, you will receive it. Life is shaped by your perception, and your thoughts set the foundation for your reality. As Proverbs 23:7 says, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

If you believe you can, you will. If you doubt yourself, then the journey ends before it even begins. But I believe in you. Now, as you begin to believe in yourself, I know it’s only a matter of time before I see you standing on the other side of your dreams, living the life you’ve always envisioned.

Remember, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks about you. What truly matters is what you believe about yourself—what you know you’re capable of—and the actions you take to bring those beliefs to life.

So, go forward with faith, determination, and courage. Dream big, stay real, and live your best life and just know that I believe in you and with you believing more in yourself, I know that It’s only a matter of time until I see you on the other side of your dreams

Until Next week

Love always,
John Maurice
