The Last Hiding Places Are the Quietest Ones.
By Dr. John Maurice, M.C., C.T.C., M.M.C.

Three Sundays Out.
We are three Sundays away from my new book release S.H.I.N.E.
S – The Son. H – Has Already Given Me. I – The Identity I Was Born To Carry. N – Not To Hide, But To. E – Embody, Every Single Day.
I want you to feel that. Not as a deadline, but As a doorway.
We moved into the light. We let the room sort itself around our stillness. Last Sunday we learned the lamp is not the oil, and we went back to the Well to be refilled. You have been doing the work. I have felt you doing it.
But there is one more thing we have to walk through before SHINE arrives, And if I let you cross that doorway with this still on your shoulders, the book will not land the way God meant it to.
There is still something you are not standing beside.
Not the loud stuff. You stopped doing the loud stuff weeks ago.
I am talking about something quieter. Something nobody but you and God would catch.
A gift, a credential, a calling, a piece of who you already are that you have been saying at half volume. Or not saying at all. Or saying it only when it is safe. Or burying it inside a joke so nobody takes it seriously, including you.

What you still cover is what you still doubt is fully yours.
Read that again. Out loud this time.
What you still cover is what you still doubt is fully yours.
The places you still soften, still mumble, still tuck away, still apologize for they are not random. They are an exact map of where you still secretly believe you do not deserve what God already entrusted you with.
Every quiet hiding place is doubt wearing a costume.

The Things I Spent Years Almost Not Saying
I will tell you the truth, because I will not ask you to do something I have not done.
There was a long stretch where I mumbled the doctorate. I would say “Dr.” and then drop my voice, like I needed to apologize for the title before anybody else could question it.
But it was not just the doctorate. That was just the first cloth.
There were the books sacred work, the most sacred work of my life and I would talk about them like side projects. There was the music, an entire catalog with my name on it, and I would mention being an international recording artist and then immediately walk it back with a joke. There was the television work, the coaching, the platform God built underneath me one room at a time. There was the survival itself seven spinal surgeries, nine schools in twelve years, no real friends and a life that did not disappear. There was the ability God put in my hands to help people change theirs.
All of it. All of it I had a soft cloth over.
I told myself it was humility for years. That is what made it so hard to see.
What it actually was, was poor stewardship.
That is the word.
A gift God gave you that you refuse to stand beside is not humility. It is poor stewardship. You are not protecting anybody. You are not being polite. You are not being patient.

You are hiding the receipt for what God already paid for.
The final hiding place is not the gift you do not have.
It is the gift you already have, but still refuse to stand beside.
The degree. The wisdom. The voice. The calling. The dream. The assignment. The light.
Not because they are too big.
Because somewhere along the way you stopped believing they belonged to you.
This week, that stops.

Three Rooms You Will Walk Through This Week
The gift you mumble.
There is something true about you that you have been saying at half volume. A title. A calling. A role. A piece of your story you only tell in small rooms.
Find yours this week. Say it out loud. To yourself first. In the mirror. In the car. In the prayer time with God. I am ___________. And I have been mumbling it. And I am done mumbling it.
You do not have to announce it on social media. You just have to stop letting your own mouth dim what God already named.

The answer you soften.
There is a truth you have been delivering padded. God gave you the unpadded version. And you have been wrapping it in well, in my opinion and take what works and leave the rest until the truth you walked in with is barely visible by the end of the sentence.
I spent years calling it humility when it was really hesitation. I spent years calling it being a team player when the team I was actually protecting was the version of me that was scared to be fully seen.
This week, find one truth you have been padding. Say it once without the padding. To one person. The first time will feel strange. The second time will feel like air finally moving through a window that has been painted shut for years.

The yes you whisper.
There is something you have already said yes to, in private, with God. And you have not said it out loud yet.
You already know what it is.
The whispered yes is the heaviest thing a person can hold, because it has all the weight of obedience and none of the freedom of action. The day I started saying my yeses out loud to to my wife, to the people closest to me, to God in the open was the day the weight started to lift off my chest and turn into momentum under my feet.
Find your whispered yes this week. Say it to one trusted person before Sunday. That is the first standing beside. That is how the yes starts to walk.

Spanish Word of the Day
Descubrir — to uncover. To reveal. To bring into the light what was always there.
deh · scoo · BREER
Des → “dehs” (clean, soft) cu → “scoo” (open, quick) brir → “BREER” (this is where the weight lands, roll the r softly)
Say it out loud. Dehs-scoo-BREER. One more time. Dehs-scoo-BREER.
Descubrir is built from cubrir, which means to cover. The prefix des undoes the covering. The word itself is the teaching. You are not creating something new this week. You are undoing the covering of something that was already there.
When the cloth comes off the lamp, the lamp does not get brighter. The lamp was already that bright. The room just finally sees what was always burning underneath.
Tú descubres. You uncover.
Stand beside one gift this week. Just one.

Bridge Exercise
Take fifteen minutes this week and sit with a piece of paper. At the top, write one sentence:
What I have not been standing beside.
Then write. Do not edit yourself. Just write everything that comes every gift you mumble, every truth you soften, every whispered yes, every piece of the inheritance you have been quietly refusing to claim.
Pick one. Just one. Circle it.
Tell God about it first. Then tell one trusted person. Say it out loud, in a normal voice, without the padding. I am ___________. And I have been covering it. And I am done covering it.
By next Sunday, you will be standing beside one piece of the inheritance you have spent years almost not saying.

Identity Affirmation
Read this out loud. Slow. Twice. The second time, slower than the first.
What I still cover is what I still doubt is fully mine. I am done covering what God already gave me. I do not mumble what He told me to say with my whole chest. I do not soften what He gave me to deliver clear. I do not whisper a yes I am supposed to live out loud. I stand beside the gift, the calling, the credential, the dream, the assignment, the light. Yo descubro lo que Dios ya encendió. I uncover what God already lit. The light was always there. This week, I let the room finally see it.

The Cloth Comes Off This Week
Picture a beautiful lamp on a table in a sunlit room. The lamp is burning. The oil is full. The flame is steady and bright.
But somebody maybe years ago, maybe out of fear, maybe out of love, maybe just out of habit draped a soft cloth over the top of it.
Underneath the cloth, the lamp keeps burning, doing exactly what a lamp was made to do. But the room only sees a faint glow through the fabric, when the truth is that the lamp underneath has been burning at full brightness the whole time.
The lamp is you.
The cloth is what you have been refusing to stand beside.
This week, your assignment is not to make the lamp brighter. The lamp is already that bright. Your assignment is to walk over to the table, take the cloth off the lamp, and let the room finally see what God already lit.
The final hiding place is never the gift you do not have. It is the gift you already have, but still refuse to stand beside.
You moved in. You let the room sort itself. You went back to the Well.
This week, the cloth comes off.

Dr. John Maurice Seal
“Father, You did not light me so I could keep a cloth over the lamp. Take the covering off this week. Let the room see what You already made.”
Father, for every reader walking into these last three Sundays before S.H.I.N.E. take the cloth off every lamp. Help them stand beside what You already entrusted them with. Let them arrive at June 21st with their full inheritance in their hands and their full lamp burning out loud.
Activate the greatness You placed within them, Father. Activate the gifts You entrusted to them. Activate the courage to stand beside what You already called good. Let them stop questioning what You already decided. Let them stop covering what You already blessed. Let them stop apologizing for what You already entrusted to their care.
Let them feel that standing beside the gift is not arrogance. It is stewardship. It is gratitude. It is finally saying back to You what You already said about them.
Thank You.
Like always, you already know that I believe in you guy’s. And now, with you believing more in yourself, taking all the steps needed to become the greatest version of yourself, I know that I will see you on the other side of your desired reality in no time.
You are so much closer than you know. Just a few adjustments and it is Harvesting Time.
Until Next Time,
Love Always,
Dr. John Maurice M.C., C.T.C., M.M.C.

Decoding With Dr. John Maurice
The gap between who God made you to be and what your mouth has been allowed to say out loud has a name in neuroscience. It is called self-concept incongruence. The Prefrontal Cortex — the Architect of Reality — holds the true picture of who you are. The Amygdala — the Fear Filter — has been keeping a cloth over it because somewhere a long time ago, saying out loud what you actually are got punished. The Filter learned to insert the mumble, the joke, the deflection. It was trying to protect you. The protection is now the prison.
Every time you stand beside a gift God gave you in a normal voice, in a normal room, without softening it you are retraining the Fear Filter that the room you live in now is not the room you grew up in. Being known is safe now. Being seen is safe now. Standing beside the inheritance is safe now.
That is what the Anterior Midcingulate Cortex — the Warrior of Obedience is built for. The small hard reps. Saying the title without the mumble. Delivering the truth without the padding. Speaking the yes to one trusted person. By June 21st, you will need a Warrior that has been trained to stand beside what God gave you without flinching.
Standing beside what God gave you is not arrogance. It is stewardship. Every cloth you take off this week is a piece of doubt you stop carrying.
I will see you on the other side.
Love Always.

The light you have been carrying was placed inside of you, by the Son, a long time before you ever asked. Your only job now is to stop covering it up and to start standing beside it.
S – The Son H – Has Already Given Me I – The Identity I Was Born To Carry N – Not To Hide, But To E – Embody, Every Single Day
You were never asked to be loud. You were asked to be lit.
