Let Go of the Brand. Let Go of the Performance. Just Be.
By Dr. John Maurice M.C., C.T.C., M.M.C.

The Moment You Stop Rehearsing
I want to say something to you today that I am also saying to myself.
You have been performing.
Not lying. Not faking, But Performing. There is a difference. Performing is what we do when we have become so skilled at being the version of ourselves that the world rewards that we forget there is a version underneath who never needed the reward in the first place.
You built the brand because you needed to be seen. You sharpened the voice because you needed to be heard. You polished the message because you needed to be believed. All of that was necessary. None of that was you.
Last week, I told you that people of value don’t audition they invite. two weeks ago, I told you to stop rehearsing the version of you that is already on the other side. Today, at the end of this identity arc, I am telling you what the Spirit has been telling me.
It is time to put the performance down.
The man or women you are becoming is not on the other side of another reps. He is under the performance, waiting for you to stop long enough to meet him or her.

The Quiet Moment Nobody Warns You About
There is a moment in every transformation that nobody warns you about.
It is not the moment you decide to change. That part is loud. That part has journals and sermons and frameworks and vision boards. That part is a beginning, and beginnings are easy because they are dressed up in hope.
The moment I am talking about is quieter. It comes much later. It comes after the work. After the reps. After the shedding. After you have already become the person you prayed to become and nobody notices, including you.
It is the moment you realize you have been waiting for permission to be him or her. Permission from the audience. Permission from the revenue. Permission from the numbers, the followers, the bookings, the outside. Permission from a world that was never going to hand it to you because permission was never theirs to give.
The man or women I have been building is already here.
So is the woman you have been building. So is the version of you that survived every classroom you were told you did not belong in, every room you were told you were too much for, every season you were told to settle down and settle in and settle for. That version did not die waiting. That version grew up in the waiting. And that version is standing in front of you right now, wearing your face, asking one question.
When are you going to stop auditioning for a role you have already been cast in?

The Skillet, the Pancake, and the Voice at the Sink
Let me tell you what happened to me just yesterday morning.
It is my last weekend with my daughter living with me before she moves to Orlando. I had just come in from walking the dogs and I asked her if she was hungry. She said yes. So I went to make pancakes.
Now I have made pancakes a thousand times. I am good at it. They come out amazing every time. I usually use a non-stick pan. But this morning, instead of grabbing the non-stick, I reached for the skillet. It was right there. I figured I would use it and cook some eggs also.
I turned the heat up, added a little oil, mixed the batter, poured it in, and went back to reading. I know when a pancake is ready. When it bubbles, you flip.
But this time, when I went to flip it, my pancake was stuck.
I was shocked.
Right in the middle. Can you believe it? I was thinking, what is going on, this never happens to me.
I tried to lift it. It tore. I flipped it anyway. The bottom was almost burned, clinging to the pan. The whole thing was a mess.
I carried the skillet to the sink to wash it and start over. And as I was scrubbing the skillet, I heard a voice on the inside. Clear as anything.
It said
In order to get the things you want, you have to do new things. Your old tools will not work here. This is a new level. New levels require new tools. New skills. New intention. What worked before will not survive what is in front of you now.

I just stood there with the soapy skillet in my hand.
And I gave in to it.
I said Yes. Okay. I cannot keep doing what I used to do and expect a different outcome. But somewhere inside that lesson is the truth that if I am willing to keep going, the next level is already on the other side.
That was the moment.
That was the lesson God had been waiting for me to hear. I knew that, but I was too busy doing it my way.
The non-stick pan was the old tool. It worked for who I used to be. It made a thousand great pancakes before, for a man who needed great pancakes. But the skillet the skillet is the new level. And the new level requires that I stop doing what worked before and learn what works now.
The pancake had to tear apart in the pan for me to hear it.
Maybe yours has too. Or you can learn before something in your life breaks.

Surrender Is Not Performance
I have been teaching you about identity shift. I have been teaching you about my four pillars. I have been teaching you that even when you have fear and still don’t believe, you still have to do it. All of that is true. All of that still stands.
But there is something underneath all of it that I want to give you today, because it is what God keeps telling me.
You do not have to perform for your new identity. You have to surrender to it.
The brand is not the man. The performance is not the message. The polish is not the Spirit. If you took away everything every platform, every book, every podcast, every title, every credential what is left is what God actually wants to use.
The rest is scaffolding. Scaffolding is necessary while the house is being built. But you do not live in the scaffolding. You live in the house.
I have been living in the scaffolding.
Maybe you have too.
And the invitation today the real invitation, the one underneath the invitation is to move into the house. To stop rehearsing the man or the woman and just be him or her. To stop explaining the message and just speak it the way God gives it, in the moment, without editing. To stop auditioning for a calling that already has your name on the door.

The Two Verbs, Weather and Climate
This is why the Spanish teachers of old made a distinction that English forgot how to make. In Spanish, there are two verbs for “to be” ser and estar. Estar is how you are right now. Ser is who you are, always. Estar is the weather. Ser is the climate. You do not become the climate by trying harder at the weather. You simply are the climate, and the weather arranges itself around that truth.
Identity is ser, not estar.
You have been trying to estar your way into being him. Tried to perform the mood, the posture, the confidence, the voice. That is weather. That is temporary. That is exhausting because it was never supposed to hold. What God is calling you into is ser the permanent tense, the unchanging identity, the man or woman who simply is who they are, whether the room claps or not, whether the sale closes or not, whether the post performs or not.

Truth Does Not Need a Performance, It Needs a Vessel
Truth does not need a performance. Truth needs a vessel. A vessel is quiet. A vessel is steady. A vessel does not worry about whether the water being poured through it is impressive, because the vessel knows it is not the water. The vessel just stays clean and stays open and stays available.
That is what I am trying to become. That is what I am inviting you to become.
Not a better performer. A cleaner vessel.
Because when you stop performing, something happens that no amount of hustle can manufacture: the people who were meant for you start recognizing you. Not because you got louder. Because you got real. And real has a frequency that cannot be faked, cannot be branded, and cannot be outperformed. Real is what Heaven recognizes. Real is what The Witnesses are waiting for.

Do Less, Be More
So today, I am not asking you to do more.
I am asking you to do less, and be more.
Less performance, more presence. Less polish, more truth. Less becoming, more being. Less trying to convince the world you are him or her, and more living as if you already are because you already are, and the world is just the last one to find out.
Yo ya soy. I already am. The work now is not to become. The work now is to remain.

Spanish Word of the Day
Word Ser
Phonetic Pronunciation sair
English Meaning To be in the permanent, essential, identity sense. Not a temporary state (that is estar). Ser is who you are at your core, unchanging, from creation.
Spanish Sentence Yo ya soy el hombre que Dios me llamó a ser.
English Translation I am already the man God called me to be.
Full Phonetic Sentence Breakdown
Yo (yoh)
ya (yah)
soy (soy)
el (ell)
hombre (OHM-breh)
que (keh)
Dios (dee-OHS)
me (meh)
llamó (yah-MOH)
a (ah)
ser (sair)
The Spanish language holds the distinction that English lost. Ser is the verb of identity. Estar is the verb of condition. You are not trying to feel like him or her today estar. You are declaring, in the most permanent tense the language has, that you already are him or her ser. That is not affirmation. That is grammar with a spine.

Bridge Exercise. Ninety Seconds to Embodiment
Today, try this. Once. Just once. It will take ninety seconds.
Stand up. Wherever you are. Put both feet flat on the ground. Close your eyes. Take one slow breath in through your nose, and one slow breath out through your mouth.
Now say this, out loud not in your head, out loud three times.
Yo ya soy. I am already him. I am already her. I have nothing to prove and nothing to perform. I am here. I am home. I am Yours.
After the third time, do not move for ten seconds. Just stand there. Let your body catch up to your words. Let the new identity take a seat in the room you already built for it.
That is embodiment. That is the shift. That is the whole thing.
You do not have to believe it to do it. You just have to do it. The believing will come.

Identity Affirmation
Yo ya soy. I am already him. I am already her. I do not perform my identity, I inhabit it. I do not explain my calling, I live it. I am not here to be impressive. I am here to be true. And truth, when it is lived, does not need a stage. It becomes the stage.

The Door Was Never Locked
If something in this hit you, sit with it for a second. Most of what has been wearing you out is the act.
Trying to sound right. Trying to be received right. Trying to earn your way into a room you never had to earn your way into.
Last week I said People of value don’t audition. They invite. Let me go one step deeper.
You have been standing at a door that was already open.
No handle. No lock. No one on the other side deciding if you are ready.
And still, you have been rehearsing.
So do something different today. Stop. Not forever. Just long enough to see what is left when the effort drops.
No angle. No pitch. No version of you trying to land. Peel back the layers just like an onion. All the flash, all the distractions, until it is just You and Your Creator so that you may gain clarity on what you were created to do.
That is when everything starts to come to life for you. That is when you see your dreams come true.
Just stand there.
That version the one that is not reaching that is the one people feel. That is the one that actually moves things.
I wrote both of my books for this exact moment. Not to help you get better at the act, but to get you out of it. If you have not read them yet, read them. Let them meet you where this leaves off.
Always remember “If You Change Your Mind You Can Change Your Life. Delay Does Not Mean Denial. But it all starts with You, from the inside out”. That’s how you get to…
“Finding Me“.

Decoding With Dr. John Maurice
This is the section where I tell you what I am actually saying in this blog.
Here is the truth. Your brain has four parts working at the same time, and they do not always agree with each other. That is why you can want something with everything in you and still feel stuck. Let me walk you through it.
The first part is your Prefrontal Cortex – the PFC. Some traditions call this the Third Eye. It sits right behind your forehead. This is the part of you that imagines, plans, and decides who you want to be. I call it the Architect because that is exactly what it does it draws the blueprint of the man or woman you are becoming. Most people think the PFC builds you through hard work. It does not. It builds you through what you say about yourself. When you say “I am already him or her” out loud present tense, like it is already true your brain starts looking for evidence that matches. That is not magic. That is how the brain is wired. The words you say first become the life you see next.
The second part is your Anterior Midcingulate Cortex – the aMCC. That is the part of your brain that does the hard things the reps, the discipline, the showing up when you do not feel like it. I call it the Warrior because it fights for you when nothing else will. But here is what most people miss. The aMCC does not just get stronger by doing hard things. It gets stronger by doing hard things from the right place inside you. If you do a hundred reps thinking “I am trying to become him or her,” you build a man or women who is always trying. If you do a hundred reps thinking “I am him, and this is just what I do,” you build a man or women who already is. Same reps. Two different men. That is the difference between burning out and breaking through.
The third part is your Amygdala. That is the alarm system in your brain. Its only job is to keep you alive. I call it the Fear Filter because that is exactly what it does every new thing has to pass through it before you act. The problem is, your Amygdala still thinks you are seven years old in that classroom you got laughed at in. So every time you go to do something new, it sounds the alarm. Here is the secret nobody tells you. The Amygdala only gets loud when you are still asking it for permission. The moment you stop asking the moment you decide and just move the Amygdala has nothing to argue with. You stop debating yourself. You start declaring.
The fourth part is your Quantum Consciousness. This is the deepest piece, and the one most teachers will not touch. I call it the Integrator because this is where your spirit meets your science. When you say “I am Yours” out loud to God, you collapse the distance between the man or woman standing in your shoes and the One who made him or her. That is why performance feels heavy and surrender feels light. Performance, you carry alone. Surrender, He or she carries through you. That is the part no system on earth can manufacture for you.
So here is the whole thing in one breath.
You are not building someone new. You are getting quiet enough to hear who you have always been.
The pancake had to tear in the pan for me to hear it. I pray you will hear your voice before something in your life tears.
Let go of the brand.
Let go of the performance.
Just be. After all, you are a “Human Being.”
Yo ya soy. I am already him or her. You are already Him / Her. That is the work. Be intentional with making your decision-making from the mindset of the harvest you desire and the rest will follow.
Believe.
Until next time,
Love Always.
